St. Landry Parish sheriff's deputies arrested a Leonville man on drug possession charges following a traffic stop. 

Kendrick Lamar Mayon, 34, faces two counts of possession with intent to distribute Schedule I, two counts of possession with intent to distribute Schedule II drugs, one count of possession with intent to distribute Schedule V drugs and possession of Schedule II and drug paraphernalia, according to a St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Office announcement.

On Monday, deputies surveilled a residence in the 200 block of Pleasant Run Road in Leonville, alleging Mayon as a key narcotics violator. Mayon drove from the home before deputies initiated a traffic stop. 

A search of Mayon's vehicle allegedly revealed 12 grams of methamphetamine, 2.2 grams of crack cocaine, 14 grams of marijuana, 8 ounces of codeine, and 3.5 hydrocodone pills. 

A search of the residence revealed 15 grams of marijuana and one bottle of promethazine. 

Mayon is being held at the St. Landry Parish Jail. Bond information is unavailable.
