East Feliciana STEAM Academy was one of six recipients statewide of this year’s Louisiana School Physical Activity Award.
Through the award, the Louisiana Department of Education recognizes and honors exemplary schools that are implementing an outstanding physical activity program, according to a news release.
This is the second consecutive year that one of the parish's schools has been recognized with this prestigious award: Slaughter Elementary School earned recognition in 2024.
Students at the school have an opportunity to practice a variety of activities and games that can be part of their lifelong physical fitness routine. This inclusive physical education program is one of the reasons the Louisiana Department of Education awarded the school with the Louisiana School Physical Activity Award, according to the release.
